Burton George Covert, 72, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, at his home.
He was born March 6, 1950, in Seward, a son of the late Floyd and Anna (Hromas) Covert. Burton was united in marriage on May 25, 1972, to Wanda Hartnett in Seward. He was a graduate of Utica High School in Utica. Burton was a mechanic and operated multiple service stations in Seward over the years. Burton loved to collect guns and coins. Most of all, he loved his family and making memories with them. He will be greatly missed.
Burton is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wanda; four children; nine grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. at the Utica Methodist Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the Covert family for future designations. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.millardfamilychapels.com.
