Bette Darlene Schulz-Pohlman, age 92 of Aurora, died Saturday, March 9, 2024, in Aurora.

She was born May 4, 1931, to Albin and Mary (Hennessey) Policky in Seward. On Oct. 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Melvin E. Schulz in Staplehurst. After Melvin passed away, Bette married Robert Pohlman. 

Bette was a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. She worked at Schulz Floor Service with her husband, Melvin. Bette lived in Colorado for five years with Robert. After Robert passed away, she moved back to be closer to family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Bette was the “best mother ever” and was loved by so many.

Bette is survived by her children, Sharon Rybock of Corona, California, Julie (Carl) Viel of Grand Junction, Colorado, Diane Richter and special friend Kevin Heine of Seward, and Steve Schulz of Kearney; brother, LeRoy (Gerry) Policky of Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; nieces and nephews; and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Melvin and Robert; son, Don; sister, MaryAnne (Lou) Dart; and sister-in-law, Betty (Bill) Messer. 

The funeral service was March 14 with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorial contributions are suggested to Traditions Hospice in Lincoln. Arrangements by Metz Mortuary in York.
