Beck’s Hybrids, the largest family owned retail seed company and third-largest seed brand, officially has a new home in Goehner.

The company was welcomed by statewide and local leaders in a ceremonial flag raising on Oct. 13 at it’s new facility in Seward County.

“We welcome Beck’s Hybrids to the Seward County business community. Beck’s Hybrids is an ideal partner because of their commitment to faith, family and farming,” said Jonathan Jank, president and CEO of the Seward County Chamber and Development Partnership. “We truly appreciate their investment in Seward County and look forward to a long and successful business relationship.”

Members of Beck’s management team, Nebraska state leaders, Seward County officials and the Chamber of Commerce, construction and development partners, friends, neighbors and media representatives gathered at the event.

Following remarks from state leaders, the Seward American Legion Post 33 and Seward Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4755 conducted a flag raising.

“Nebraska’s amazing agricultural productivity is made possible by innovative companies like Beck’s,” said Nebraska Lt. Gov. Mike Foley. “By researching and developing better-performing plants, Beck’s helps farmers increase yield and optimize the land and water they use to grow crops. Thank you to Beck’s for choosing to invest in Goehner and put down roots here in the Good Life!”

Situated off I-80, Beck’s Goehner facility has plans for new buildings and reconstruction on its 150 acres.

Beck’s will bring multiple new full-time employees to operate the facility as well as for sales support, distribution and Practical Farm Research studies.

“Establishing our roots in Nebraska is just another way Beck’s provides our customers with the best in seed quality, field performance, and service,” said Sonny Beck, CEO of Beck’s. “Once the Goehner facility is complete, it will provide Beck’s dealers and customers with closer access to products, customer support, agronomic services, and Practical Farm Research. We look forward to supporting our western customers for seasons to come and helping their farms thrive.”

The facility is expected to be fully operational in 2023, with an anticipated grand opening at the inaugural Nebraska Field Show on Aug. 3.
