Beatrice Gertrude Einem was born Feb. 3, 1928, to Walter A. and Elsie Marie (Strehlow) Braun in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She graduated from North Division High School in Milwaukee. On Oct. 18, 1947, Bea was united in marriage to Rev. Harold Emil Einem in Milwaukee. She was a housewife and also worked as an office clerk at Usinger’s Sausage Company for 25 years, retiring in 1988. In her free time, she enjoyed entertaining, traveling, baking and fishing. She also worked with inner-city outreach and sang in the choir at Harold’s church parishes which were in Valdosta, Georgia, from 1963-1966, Emmaus, Milwaukee, 1966-1976 and Ebenezer, Milwaukee, from 1976 to retirement. Bea helped with the soup kitchen and thrift store at Ebenezer. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and belonged to LWL, Circles, LWML, Christ Care and the church choir. Bea passed away Feb. 19, 2024, in Seward, at the age of 96.

She is survived by her sons, Gary (Debbie) Einem of Georgetown, Texas and Randy (Karen) Einem of League City, Texas; daughter, Carey (Don) Weber of Seward; son-in-law, Bob Sterioti of Oswego Illinois; grandchildren, Jennifer Weber, Rebecca (Jamie) Wagner, Sarah Weber, Katie (Dr. Alex) Lemke, Drs. Tracey (Robert) Lindeman, Joseph Sterioti, Andrew (Jenna) Einem and Tabitha (Jon) Britt and son Finn Britt; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Naomi and Gideon Weber, Cecelia, Joseph and Adeleigh Wagner, Madeline Lemke, and Rachael Hunter, Jack Lemke, Eathyn and Zach Wagner, Brooke and William Lindeman. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elsie Braun; husband, Rev. Harold Einem; daughter, Debbie Sterioti; grandson, John Weber; brother, Herbert Braun; grandchild, John Weber; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, March 21, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward. A memorial service will be Friday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. Committal will be at a later date at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of St. John Child Development Center.
