Audrey Marie Hackworth of Seward was born April 7, 1938, to Harold and Marie (Kopke) Kallenbach in Rising City.
She graduated from Shelby High School in 1955. On Feb. 13, 1982, Audrey was united in marriage to John “Bud” Hackworth at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. She was a registered nurse and the administrator for Anna Sundermann Homes. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, baking and watching all sports. She loved spending time outdoors.
Audrey passed away Nov, 10, 2020, in Milford at the age of 82 years, seven months and three days. She is survived by her children, Galyn (Lavetta) Johnson, Rising City, Gary (Shelley) Johnson, Seward, Gene Johnson, Lincoln, and Genon (Jerald “Jerry”) Dobrusky, Seward; step-son, Larry Hackworth, Lincoln; grandchildren, Melissa (Matt) Schrawyer, Mark (Alicia) Ryan, Cassandra (C.J.) Grams, Steven Albers, Angelica Albers, Ben (Meagan) Anderson, Jake (Brandie) Anderson, Seth (Samantha) Johnson, Emily Johnson (John O’Hara), Brody Johnson and Justin (Barbara) Dobrusky; great-grandchildren, Ian, Weston, Knox, Sadie Anna, Payton, Maverick, Madison, Jackson, Nelson, Aubrey, Carter, Rylee and Kendall; brother, Larry Kallenbach, Winchester, Idaho; sisters, Doris Walmer, Firth, and Kathleen (Doug) Harold, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Marie Kallenbach; husband, John “Bud” Hackworth; and granddaughter, Shawna Dobrusky.
Visitation is Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward. A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home.
