APRIL 28, 2026 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. Approved personal property tax refunds, tax list corrections and homestead exemption changes. Hladky gave an update of her department. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved minutes of April 21, 2026. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved Chair to sign agreements with Cidnet/Encartele for the Detention Center. Larry Bechtel was introduced as Veteran of the Month. Awarded bid for a used motor grader to NMC, Inc. Approved three short form plats in Precincts A, E, and J. Approved Seward District Problem Solving Court’s application for the use of Opioid Funds to attend conference. Approved March 2026 Zoning Fee Report. Approved appointment of Jean Eggleston and Susan Burkey to the Aging Partners Areawide Council, for a term of 3 years. Discussions were held on Hiring bonus for Corrections Officer; Planning Commission meeting procedures and training; the plan to begin audio/video recording of the commissioner meetings; and photographs to be displayed at the Justice Center.
