APRIL 2, 2024 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED MAY 7, 2024 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on April 2, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, John Culver, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Officials gave reports of their offices. Approved minutes of March 26, 2024. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved quote from Levander’s Body Shop for application of decals to county vehicles. Approved payment of costs for the 420th Road Project. Approved the revised Zoning Administrator job description. Accepted bid for mowing of abandoned cemeteries and approved Chair to sign contract with Anton Buresh. Held Public Hearing and approved Re-zone application for property in O Precinct. Approved Short Form Plat in O Precinct. Held Public Hearing for permits to build and operate a telecommunications tower in Precinct A. Chris Reha for Industrial Towers West spoke in favor of said request. Application was denied. Held Public Hearing for permits to build and operate a telecommunications tower in Precinct O. Terri Dolezal, representing ATC Sequoia LLC dba American Tower Co., spoke in favor of said request. Application was Approved. Approved Road Dept. request to purchase two electronic traffic signs. Approved request that any incurred cost for scrap tire event be paid out of Inheritance Fund until the grant is reimbursed and then paid back to the Inheritance Fund. Approved two Right-of-Way permits for Yoder Direction Drilling in precinct , and Windstream Nebraska LLC in precinct I. Approved request to increase Sheriff’s credit card limits through August 31, 2024. Approved request to move $10,000 cash from the Informant Petty Cash Fund and be place in the Sheriff’s Sinking Fund. Accepted Seward County Health Fund renewal at 1% increase with US Benefits and American National Texas as presented by Mid-American benefits. Held Executive Session for pending litigation. Approved Board to sign a letter of support for Community Projects Fund Grant Application for the City of Milford. Discussions were held on purchasing Yubikeys for two-factor email security, changing fares for Public Transit and transporting school students, and grant funds being sought by Seward County.
