APRIL 1, 2025 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED MAY 6, 2025 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on April 1, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Jonathan Jank of the Seward County Chamber gave an update of the organization. Marilyn Hladky and Sherry Schweitzer gave an update of their offices. Approved the consent agenda consisting of: minutes of March 25, 2025; Sheriff’s Fee & Mileage Reports for January 2025; and two utility permits in H precinct and O precinct. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Opened six bids for bridge project. Bid will be awarded in two weeks. Approved use of courthouse lawn for Farmers Market May 17, 2025 October 29, 2025 and for Lunch on the Lawn event on April 29, 2025. Approved Chair to sign the Janssen Road Dam Agreement with Lower Platte South NRD. Held Public hearing and approved permit to upgrade tower in O Precinct. Awarded the abandoned cemeteries mowing contract to Buresh Lawn Care and approved Chair to sign contract. Held jail inspection. Discussion was held on future funding of 420th Road paving, status of the bylaws of Region V and Apace, and legislative information.
