Annette Marie Westerhoff was born Sept. 9, 1966, in Seward, to Allen and Rosie (Klement) Westerhoff and passed away Feb. 3, 2024, in Seward, at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 25 days.

Annette grew up in Seward and graduated from Seward High School with the Class of 1985. Following high school, she worked at Hinky Dinky Grocery Store and was in the grocery business for the next 39 years. She was known for her infectious smile that greeted everyone at Pac N Save Grocery, where she was employed until her passing. Annette found great joy in reading all books no matter the genre. Christmas was Annette’s favorite holiday, and she was known to start putting up her Christmas tree right after Halloween.

She loved music, especially Christmas music and would play it 24/7. She found joy in collecting Precious Moments ornaments and lighthouse figurines. Most of all, Annette cherished spending time with her family and friends, but especially her cousins. She courageously fought colon cancer for the last 3.5 years.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her mother, Rosie Westerhoff of Seward; brother, Allen, Jr., (Shelley) Westerhoff of Monroe; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Annette is preceded in death by her father, Allen Westerhoff, Sr.; grandparents, Merle and Sylvia Westerhoff and Frank and Annie Klement; and great-grandparents, Albert and Marie Westerhoff.

The Westerhoff family wishes to thank Pac N Save Grocery for all their support during Annette’s illness. They would also like to thank the Seward Family Medical Center staff, her doctors and nurses, Horizon Hospice and everyone else that made Annette’s last days comfortable.

The family requests no flowers be given, but memorial contributions are suggested to the Westerhoff family for future designations. Arrangements by Zabka-Perdue Funeral Home.
