Lorraine A. Naber

Feb. 20, 1946 – Feb. 9, 2019

Lorraine Alice (Eicher) Naber was born Feb. 20, 1946. She passed away peacefully on Feb. 9, 2019, at age 72 in Erie, Pennsylvania, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Seward to Benjamin and Nora Eicher, graduated from high school in Garland and moved to Grand Island when she married her husband, David Naber from Utica. They had two children, Michelle (Menlo Park, California) and Michael (Erie, Pennsylvania).

While in Grand Island, Lorraine worked for New Holland and then Omaha National Bank’s computer center, which would later become FirsTier Bank. She was promoted, eventually becoming vice president of general services at FirsTier Bank, and the family moved to Omaha, residing in Ralston and later Gretna. In 1996, she joined the Zurich Company as the regional facilities director.

After retiring in 2007 from Zurich, she devoted her time to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church working on the Personnel Committee and to her favorite organization, the Omaha Women’s Chamber of Commerce, as the treasurer and on the By-Laws Committee.

Lorraine was proud of her children, their respective spouses Mark and Jennifer, and a grandparent to five grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to various parts of the world visiting them and was dedicated to taking care of her husband David when illness struck. She was energetic, organized, decisive, dedicated, loyal and a champion of all causes. She was a great role model and will always be remembered for her quick sense of humor and her infectious smile.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in La Vista. Inurnment will be in Seward Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.volzkefuneralhome.com.
