Coleen Mary McCormick was born Aug. 20, 1949, in Seward to Urban and Laverne T. (Honvlez) Bader and passed away Feb. 8, 2019, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 22 days.

Coleen attended the Ritchie grade school in rural Gresham and graduated from Aquinas High School in David City with the class of 1967. She attended College of Saint Mary and later graduated from the University of Kansas, where she held degrees in Spanish and history. She then began her traveling experiences and lived in Mexico City and then moved to Europe where she lived for five years, spending most of her time in Portugal, Spain, and Brussels, Belgium. 

After her excursions around the world, she lived in Las Vegas and then returned to Nebraska and taught Spanish, French and history in O'Neill, Norfolk, Stella and Shelby high schools. She loved to travel and was fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese. Coleen met Craig McCormick while living in Las Vegas and attending the University of Nevada. They were married in 1979 in Ulysses. She had three children who she loved deeply and was very proud of their accomplishments. Coleen enjoyed reading, playing the piano and growing flowers. Coleen was devoted to her Catholic faith and often sent prayer cards to family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ulysses.

Coleen was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her children, Dakota Justice and wife Stacy of Granville, Ohio, Matthew Justice and wife Jessica of Milford, and Claudia Bialaszewski (Justice) and husband Aaron of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren, Tayvah, Julius, Jaxton, Ariah, Elora, Annika, Brahm and Deacon; four siblings, Mark S. Bader and wife Christine of Northfield, Minnesota, Philip L. Bader and wife Cindy of Seward, Gary U. Bader and wife Dolores of Gresham and Martha J. Nepper and husband Scott of Omaha; as well as beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

A rosary service and Mass of Christian Burial were held Feb. 15, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ulysses. A graveside service was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Ulysses.
