On Feb. 8, Seward County’s K-9 sergeant conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 80 that led to the arrest of two men. The stop also resulted in the seizure of 367 hashish wax containers, 134 cartridges of hashish oil, 20 grams of mushrooms, 8 ounces of liquid THC, less than an ounce of marijuana, 38 THC candy bars and U.S. currency used to facilitate the purchase of illegal narcotics.

The stop occurred at approximately 3 p.m. when the K-9 sergeant observed a passenger vehicle that had changed lanes without signaling. During the traffic stop, the K-9 sergeant was able to smell an extremely strong marijuana odor.

While at the passenger window, the sergeant also observed marijuana that had spilled all over the center console and floor of the vehicle. He then initiated a search of the vehicle.

The street value of the drugs is estimated at approximately $25,000. The driver, Jonathan Roosen, 24, of Waterford, Michigan, and the passenger, Kaysar Kazem, 26, of Detroit, Michigan, are being charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of hashish wax, possession of hashish oil, possession of hallucinogens, possession of liquid THC, possession of marijuana under an ounce, possession of U.S. currency used to facilitate the purchase of illegal narcotics and no drug tax stamp.
