Wayne Edgar Rearick, Jr., was born Oct. 23, 1950, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Wayne and Doris (Henderson) Rearick and passed away March 27, 2024, in Lincoln, at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 4 days.

Wayne grew up in Germany and England while his father served in the Air Force. Upon his dad’s discharge, the family moved back to Lincoln. Wayne graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School with the Class of 1970. He married the love of his life, Yvonne Hladik, on Aug. 4, 1972, at the Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church, and to this union, two sons were born. Wayne started out working as a carpenter building homes in Lincoln and spent the next 20 years at Hughes Brothers. Wayne retired on his 66th birthday from Pioneer. In his free time, Wayne enjoyed working in his yard, vegetable gardening and woodworking. He was a 25-year member of the Beaver Crossing Fire Department and was also a youth group leader for numerous years at Beaver Crossing Christian Fellowship.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and infant brother.

Survivors cherishing his memory include his wife, Yvonne Rearick, Beaver Crossing; sons, Matt (Tami) Rearick, Liberty, Missouri, and Sam (Heidi) Rearick, Lincoln; grandchildren, Aaron, Ethan, Devon (Bri), Teerra, John (Paige), Nick (Melissa), and Samantha (Rob); great-grandchildren, Cheyana, Aiden, Patrick, Daniel, Amelia, Theodore, Maxxam, Clementyne, Meliodas and Oliver; sister, Vicki (Les) Hinrichs, Fairbury; and nephews, Barry and Travis Pearson.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, at Zabka-Perdue Funeral Home in Seward from 1 – 8:30 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 – 8 p.m. A memorial service will be Friday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
