Adeline Geis, 97 years of age, of Seward died April 10, 2024.

Adeline was born March 3, 1927, in David City, and attended Kincaid Rural School District #57 in rural Utica, where she graduated in 1940. Adeline farmed and ran a dairy with her husband Carl for over 50 years. She was an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Church in Seward and a charter member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Damien Conference. She was a life member of the Seward Historical Society, involved in the Goehner Grange and was active in many church and community activities and programs.

Survivors include her children, Becky (Ken) Wright, Barb (Richard) Jacobsen, Ron (Cindy) Geis, Al (Aranya) Geis, Doug (Kim) Geis; son-in-law, Mark Kolterman; sister, Helen Nelson; 14 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Geis; daughter, Suzanne Kolterman; great-grandson, Liam Fitzwater; parents, Joseph P. and Anna Rerucha; brothers, Theodore Rerucha, William Rerucha, Charles Rerucha, Fred Rerucha, Louis Rerucha and Benjamin Rerucha; and sisters, Albina Kozisek, Martha Zima, Hattie Voboril and Celestine Vanis.

Mass of Christian Burial was April 16 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with committal at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Crossing. Arrangements by Volzke Funeral Home.
