Vernon L. and Lorene L. Wood

A memorial service will be held for Vernon L. Wood and Lorene L. Wood, both formerly of Seward, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, located at 919 N. Columbia Avenue. A reception will follow in the church basement. All family and friends are welcome to attend.

Vernon and Lorene were married Jan. 10, 1951. They were married for 64 years. Vernon was born in Seward on Nov. 12, 1924, to Ralph and Margaret (Von Kampen) Wood. He passed away peacefully on Jan. 29, 2017.

Lorene was born June 24, 1932, to Herman and Lydia (Roehrich) Woebbecke. She passed away from cancer on Jan. 10, 2015.

They were the loving parents of Karl (Barby) Wood, Bruce (Annette) Wood and Brad (Lisa) Wood and the proud grandparents of 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.
