Beverly Roth

Beverly Jean Roth was born Feb. 24, 1932 ,in Seward, the only child born to Omer and Alice (Idso) Stutzman, and left this life suddenly on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Seward Memorial Hospital  at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 6 days. 

Her family moved to Montana when she was a young child. Her mother passed away when she was seven years old and the family returned to Nebraska. 

Beverly graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1950. Beverly accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at East Fairview Mennonite Church. She was united in marriage to Auris Roth on June 8, 1952, at Milford and to this union five children, Randy, Jerry, Jeanie, Becky and Pam were born.

Together they made their home in the Milford area where she was a busy mother and wife. For more than 20 years, Beverly provided a babysitting service for Milford families. In her spare time she made many quilts including a graduation quilt for each graduating grandchild. Beverly was an active member of East Fairview Mennonite Church and enjoyed participating in the women’s sewing circle. 

Beverly had a gift for making others feel special and loved. When children and grandchildren came home to visit, she would make their favorite dish as a part of the meal. By her example, Beverly taught her children and grandchildren the value of integrity.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Alice Stutzman and step-mother, Dollie (Sutter) Stutzman, mother-in-law, Lydia Roth, brothers-in-law, Aden Stutzman, Curtis Roth, Kermit Miller, Mel Bachman, and Henry Friesen.

She is survived by her husband, Auris Roth, Milford, children and spouses, Randy and Vickie Roth, Milford, Jerry and Anna Roth, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Jeanie and Tim Springer, Dorchester, Becky and Steve Bixler, Apple Creek, Ohio, Pam and Kraig Roth, Seward, 16 grandchildren and spouses, Brandon and Ashley Roth, Milford, Bryce and Amanda Roth, Auburn, Brock and Shalon Roth, Milford, Brittany and Nick Green, Santa Rosa, California, Eric and Val Rothaz, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, Maria and Denver Martin, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Katie and Jeremy Dixon, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Abram Springer, Queens, New York, Shanae and Joe Yeackley, Dorchester, Charity Springer, Dorchester, Isaac Bixler and Titus Bixler, Apple Creek, Ohio, Tanner Roth, Seward, Kinzi Roth, and Sierra Roth, both of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Angel Roth, Seward, 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws, Norvene Miller, Albany, Oregon, Marcille Friesen, Milford, Erna Bachman, Goshen, Indiana, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at East Fairview Mennonite Church with Pastors Bill Saltzman, Kyle Roth and Jerry Roth officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery. Visitation was held at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford. Memorial donations have been established and may be sent in care of the family.
