Hastings resident Elizabeth A. Stromer, 71, passed away Oct. 8, 2016, at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village in Hastings. Elizabeth was born Sept. 13, 1945, in Seward to Harold and Ruth (Skiles) Dahms. She graduated from Urbana High School in Urbana, Illinois, and attended Hastings College and Kearney State College. 

Elizabeth married Larry M. Stromer on Oct. 7, 1967, in Seward. She was a homemaker and helped manage Seward Dry Goods in Seward. Elizabeth was an assistant manager at Crossroads Center in Hastings for two years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Marilyn Borden.

Survivors include her husband, Larry M. Stromer of Hastings; son, Michael Stromer of Hastings; brother and his spouse, Robert and Vlasta Dahms of Seward; sister and her spouse, Susan and Jim Skinner of Craig; sister-in-law and her spouse, Barbara and Philip Weingart of Santa Ana, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, with the Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, Oct. 14, at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Hastings. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or the Crossroads Center Rescue Mission in Hastings.
