Robert Lee Arnold, Jr. of Beaver Crossing was born
Dec. 3, 1954, in Seattle, Washington, to Robert Lee and Ileen
(Weinberger) Arnold, Sr., and passed away surrounded by
his family on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the
Warren Memorial Hospital in Friend at the
age of 60 years, five months and six days.
Bob graduated from Fairfield High
School in Fairfield, California, graduating
with the class of 1972. He furthered his education
by attending a photography school
which was a lifetime passion.
Bob moved to Mandan, North Dakota,
where he was employed at Harley Davidson
shop as a buyer for motorcycle accessories.
At this time he was united in marriage to Mary Barnhardt
and they had two children, Shaun and Melissa. In 1987, Bob
began a long career as a truck driver in Mandan and later
moved to Omaha.
Bob was united in marriage to Barbara Smith on July
13, 1996, in Reno, Nevada. For a time they lived in Seward
and Friend before moving to Beaver Crossing in 2003.
As an over-the-road truck driver, Bob was employed at
Seward Motor Freight from 1994 to 1996 and from 2004 to
2015. He owned his own truck from 1996 to 2003.
Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Beaver Crossing;
children and spouse, Shaun and Jenna Arnold, Charlotte,
North Carolina and Melissa Arnold, Shawnee, Kansas;
father, Robert Arnold, Sr., retired Air Force, living in
Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton and Sue Arnold,
Moses Lake, Washington; and Michael and Cynthia Arnold,
Bismarck, North Dakota; nieces, nephews and a host
of other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Ileen,
grandparents and his Uncle Don.
At Robert’s request, he was cremated and there will be a
private burial of ashes at a later time. Condolences may be
