During the April 30 Saline County Board of Commissioners meeting, board members discussed possible solutions for HVAC issues in the county courtroom with maintenance supervisor Dan Johnson.

The temperature in the courtroom fluctuates based on outdoor temperatures, making it uncomfortable in the courtroom at any given time. One potential solution would  be to add a second air conditioning unit to the generating room, although no action was taken.

The board held a public hearing for increasing the county building budget. The budget was raised from $17,500 to $18,500.

Commissioners approved a subdivision presented by Tom Scheffert, looking to divide an acreage on his farm, located at 1057 County Road 1300.

Assistant Highway Superintendent Bill Slezeak recommended a selection for a box culvert from bids presented at the last commissioner meeting. He suggested Vogtscapes Inc. with a bid of $303,045. The board approved the bid.

The board approved a new lease with Diode Communications. Diode provides internet services to county buildings.

The next board meeting was to be May 14.
