William “Bill” Knox

William “Bill” Selden Knox was born March 6, 1940, to Marvin and Margaret  (Vickers) Knox in Boise, Idaho. He graduated from Las Gatos High School in 1958. Bill served in the United States Navy. He then attended Cal Poly College in San Luis Obispo, graduating in 1964 with a degree in architecture engineering.

He joined the firm of Ahearn and Knox Inc. in 1977. He then worked for his father’s architectural practice in Las Gatos, California. Following this he worked at the firm of Kirk McFarland, Structural Engineer, in San Jose, California. Bill was a licensed architect and had his structural engineering license in California. He helped design many elementary and high schools in the Santa Clara Valley.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed looking up the history of his family. He liked to go on trips around the country with his family. He liked classic cars and classical music. He loved football and watching the Huskers and the 49’ers play. He enjoyed talking about his time in the Navy while in Japan and how he learned to cook. Most importantly he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a follower of Christ.

Bill passed away on Nov. 2, 2018, in Lincoln at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 27 days.

He is survived by his sons, Noah Knox of Seward and Larry (Mandi) Knox of Denver, Colorado; daughters, Michelle Knox of Morgan Hill, California, Krista Knox of Seward, Kyla (Joshua) Aguirre of Seward, Katelynn Knox of Seward and Nicole Cruz of Seward; brother, Alan Knox of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Marissa Knox, Arianna DeHaro, Aiden Mojica, Dominic Mojica, Sarah Cruz, Malachi Cruz, Andromeda Graham, Sumerlyn (Daywitt) Golter, Timothy (Chelsey) Daywitt and family, Caleb Daywitt, Abigail Daywitt and Johnathan Daywitt; and great-grandchild, Lilliana Renee Aguirre.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Knox; parents, Marvin and Margaret Knox; daughter, Karly Anne Knox; and brothers, John Knox and Larry Knox.

A memorial service was held Nov. 8, 2018, at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Seward, with the Rev. Tim Daywitt officiating. A private inurnment was in Seward Cemetery.
