The Seward Volunteer Fire Department hoisted an American flag over Sixth Street on Sept. 11 to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The flag was in place from sunrise to sunset on Sunday to honor the lives lost on the flights and in the buildings that fell, as well as the first responders who were called to action that day.
