Todd David Ehlers, of Seward, was born Sept. 30, 1964, to Rex and Lois (Ficken) Ehlers in Seward.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. He attended Seward High School, graduating in 1985. Following graduation, he worked at Concordia University in the food service department as a cafeteria attendant for 26 years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and trap shooting. He loved animals, both his own and those belonging to others. He especially valued time spent with family and friends. Todd passed away April 4, 2021, in Seward, at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 5 days, following a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.
He is survived by his mother, Lois Ehlers, Seward, and many family members that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Ehlers; grandparents, August and Dorothy Ehlers, Henry and Marie Ficken.
A funeral service was April 7 at St. John Lutheran Church with interment at the Seward Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ehlers family for future designation. Condolences may be left for the family at www.volzkefuneralhome.com.
