September 7, 2021 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED OCTOBER 12, 2021 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on September 7, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: John Culver Members: Misty Ahmic, Bob Vrbka, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Officials gave reports of their offices. Jonathan Jank, Executive Director of Seward County Chamber and Development Partnership, gave an update of the organization. Harrison Helmer, Executive Director of BRIDGES, gave an update of the organization. Approved minutes of August 31, 2021. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Discussion was held on disbursement of American Rescue Plan Act funds. Inventories were distributed to Commissioner liaisons for verification. Approved Sheriff Fee & Mileage Report for July 2021. Approved August 2021 Fee Reports for Clerk of the District Court and County Clerk. Approved Jones Bank to withdraw pledged securities. Ann Dobesh, Extension Educator, gave a demonstration on using “Owl” video conferencing equipment. Mr. and Mrs. Tim Curtis were present to request an address change where they reside. Accepted the resignation of Andrew Penry as Public Defender and re-assigned him as Deputy Public Defender. Held Public Hearing for application to re-zone the NE ¼ in H Precinct, as presented by Becky Paulsen, Weed/Zoning Administrator. Members of the public spoke in opposition. Application was denied.
