SEPTEMBER 13, 2022 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. A SPECIAL MEETING FOR THE SEWARD COUNTY BUDGET HEARING WILL BE HELD AT 8:30 A.M. ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2022. THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL FOLLOW. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED OCTOBER 11, 2022 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on September 13, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: John Culver Members: Misty Ahmic, Bob Vrbka, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved the minutes of August 23, 2022. Approved Assessor to send Change of Value Notices. Hladky gave an update of her office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved minutes of September 6, 2022. Approved Seward County claims through September 2, 2022. Highway Supt., Terry Wicht gave an update of his department. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved flying of POW/MIA flags at courthouse on September 16, 2022. Approved Clerk of the District Court Fee Report for August 2022. Discussion was held on the Missile Base Project, Infrastructure Grants and removal of carpet in Treasurer’s office. Approved bids from Van Kirk Contracting for culvert projects. A Public Hearing was held for a permit for an Agricultural Processing Distribution Center in E Precinct. Members of the public spoke both for and against said permit. A decision will be made next week. A Public hearing was held for a permit for a Telecommunications Tower in L Precinct. Chris Riha spoke in favor of said permit. Permit was approved. Approved use of county car by Task Force Coordinator. Approved seeking 2nd appraisal for purchase of Task Force Property. Held Executive Session for pending litigation.
