Ruth E. Olson of Utica was born Oct. 24, 1935, to Jacob and Elsie (Jackson) Zurcher in Neligh.
On June 14, 1953, Ruth was united in marriage to Donald D. Olson in Albion. She worked at Lancaster County Bank as a bank teller. In her free time, she liked knitting and camping. She especially enjoyed attending the activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth passed away in Seward on Nov. 20, 2020, at the age of 85 years and 27 days.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Don Olson, Utica; children, Douglas (Dorothy) Olson, Columbus, Timothy (Kristy) Olson, Alvo, and Jeffrey (Teri) Olson, Hastings; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Elsie Zurcher; brothers, Carl Zurcher and Wayne Zurcher; and sister, Beulah Hansen.
A memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at the United Methodist Church in Utica with inurnment at the Utica Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Olson family or donor's choice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.volzkefuneralhome.com.
