Ruby E. Rolfsmeier was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Denison, Iowa, to Harry and Anna Sophie (Popken) Rath and passed away Aug. 30, 2021, in Seward, at the age of 98 years, 8 months and 23 days. Ruby was baptized April 29, 1923, and confirmed on April 14, 1935, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison.

Ruby grew up in Denison, where she attended and graduated from Denison High School with the Class of 1940. She then attended business school in Omaha for one year. Ruby worked at Allis Chalmers for 2 ½ years and then worked as an office manager for Cornhusker Oil Co. for 10 years. In 1953, she moved to Lincoln. On Oct. 7, 1986, Ruby was united in marriage to A.H. “Red” Rolfsmeier in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved to Seward in 1990. Ruby was involved in 4-H as a youth and a former member of Women’s Club. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.H. “Red” Rolfsmeier; brother, Robert Rath; sister-in-law, Marguerite Rath; son, Don and daughter-in-law, Janice Rolfsmeier; son-in-law, Tex Harvey; granddaughter, Cindy Forney.

Ruby is survived by her daughters, Betty (Jack) Aegerter, Seward, Bev Harvey, Grand Island; eight grandchildren, Lori Wehenkel, Doug Rolfsmeier, Julie Weller, Jodi Schaefer, Kim Ewing, Jackie Vanis, Jeff Harvey and Troy Harvey; 16 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Leslie Rath, Denison; niece, Rhonda and Jeff Sieversten; nephew, Randy Rath; great-nieces and nephews.
