Ronald Eldon Vosta was born south of Milford on July 25, 1927, to John and Etta (Wyman) Vosta. He and his two older sisters grew up on a farm outside of Milford. He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday July 29, 2021, at the age of 94 years and four days.

Ron graduated from Crete High School in 1944 and farmed with his father. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Danekas on Aug. 3, 1948, at the West Blue Church south of Milford and to this union, six children were born, Pat, Peg, Bonnie, John, Sally and Deb. Together they farmed south of Milford, where they enjoyed their time with their family. Together they rejoiced in the addition of each grandchild and great-grandchild. Long after his retirement, Ron kept up with his son’s and grandson’s daily activities on the family farm.

Ron and Phyllis enjoyed traveling together, fishing at their cabin at Johnson Lake and being cast members in the movie Nebraska in 2012. They were active members of the Milford Grange and were both 4-H leaders. Ron enjoyed hunting, served on the Seward County Farm Service Agency for 25 years, Milford School Board, was president and board member of the Seward Saline Mutual Insurance Company, called square dances and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Milford.

Ron will be missed by the 80 members of his immediate family, including his six children and spouses, Pat and Doug Friedli, Nebraska City, Peg and Mike Struebing, Omaha, Bonnie and Tom Kemper, Crete, John Vosta, Milford, Sally and Steve Frick, Omaha, Deb and Tom Hershberger, Lincoln; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; sister, Delora (Vosta) Sukovaty, Wilber, age 100; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shirley Kotil, Seward, Gerry Boller, Dorchester, Jane Riley, Seward, Don and Ann Danekas, Milford, Doyle and Judy Danekas, Lincoln; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ron was proceeded in death by Phyllis, his wife of 66 years; his parents; sister, Ruby (Vosta) Plouzek; son-in-law, Steve Anderson; and daughter-in-law, Coleen (Schweitzer) Vosta.

A funeral service was Aug. 2 at the Milford United Methodist Church.
