Raymond Louis Policky was born Dec. 28, 1932, in Seward,to Ludvik Anton and Mary Ann (Coufal) Policky and passed away Oct. 29, 2021, in Seward, at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 1 day.

Ray grew up in the Seward area, where he attended District #70 Country School. He farmed for several years before going to work at the Phillips 66 gas station in Seward. In 1962, Ray began working for the State of Nebraska Road Department. He retired after 31 years in 1993. Ray enjoyed going to antique auctions, collecting Aladdin lamps, restoring old Ford tractors, fishing and gambling, especially the “Sizzling Seven” machine. Ray enjoyed going to polka dances in his younger years. He loved watching Monday night wrestling with his special friend, Louie. Ray was a former member of the Bee Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ron and Charles; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ludvik and Georgia Policky, Emil and Rose Policky; one sister, Lillian Tlamka.

Survivors include his five children, Alan Policky, Jim Policky, Diane Palmer, Judy Policky and Joe Policky; several grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was Nov. 3 with interment at the Seward Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Policky/Kozisek family for future designations. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.zabkafuneralhome.com.
