Robert Scott Moniot was born Oct. 13, 1961, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Lorne and Lynnda (Stilley) Moniot and passed away Nov. 20, 2021, in Lincoln, at the age of 60 years, 1 month and 7 days.

Scott grew up in Edwardsburg, Michigan, and graduated from Edwardsburg High School with the Class of 1980. He was united in marriage to Donna Matteson on July 31, 1981, in Granger, Indiana, and to this union, three children were born, Stephanie, Jaci, and Clay. Scott attended college at Vennard College in University Park, Iowa, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1995. The couple lived in several states and moved to Milford, in 2020, where Scott was a shooting coach for Concordia University, Nebraska, for the past four years. He enjoyed hunting, shooting guns, house projects and music. Scott also loved cars, Coca-Cola, helping people, telling stories and playing with his grandchildren. Most of all, Scott had a deep love for Jesus and for others.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Lorne “Butch” Moniot; uncle, Irwin “Bud” Moniot and his grandparents.

Scott is survived by his wife, Donna Moniot; mother, Lynnda Moniot Berkey, Elkhart, Indiana; children, Stephanie and husband, Andy Abrams, Oskaloosa, Iowa, Jaci and husband, Brett Kuntz, Des Moines, Iowa, Clay Moniot, Milford; grandchildren, Carson, Jackson, Shayla, and Aubrey Abrams, Oskaloosa, Morley, Raya, Priya, and Hondo Kuntz, Des Moines; siblings, Richard Moniot, Mason City, Iowa, David and wife, Sandra Moniot, Forrest City, Iowa, Danielle and husband, Flint Dille, Elkhart; father-in-law and mother- in-law, Dave and wife, Anita Matteson, Mishawaka, Indiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and wife, Diane Matteson, Elkhart, Carol and husband, Cal Silveus, Union, Michigan, and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service was Nov. 29 at the Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church in Seward. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Concordia University athletics and will go directly to the Concordia Shooting Sports Team.
