One man is in custody after a car chase down Interstate 80 and a crash in Milford the afternoon of June 2.

Jacob Ulanowski, 22, of Littleton, Colorado, was arrested on multiple charges after fleeing a traffic stop and ultimately crashing the vehicle he was driving.

Seward County Sheriff deputies conducted a traffic stop near the Goehner rest area on I-80. Ulanowski fled in the vehicle headed west, then changed directions several times throughout the pursuit, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities deployed spike strips on the road way, but Ulanowski was able to dodge them, leading the pursuit into Milford, where Milford Police became involved as well.

After a brief chase through town, Ulanowski wrecked the 2016 Subaru Legacy he was driving, a rental vehicle from Colorado, and fled on foot.

He was arrested, and authorities found a substantial amount of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Ulanowski was transported to the hospital for medical clearance before being lodged in the Seward County jail. He was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and felony operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest. He also had an extraditable warrant out of Colorado.

Eight sheriff’s deputies and two Milford Police Department officers assisted in the pursuit.
