Philip was united in marriage to Karen R. Miller on February 14, 1969 at Minden, NE. The couple was blessed with three children.

Philip spent the majority of his life as an over the road truck driver, driving for Ideal Truck Lines, Brown Transfer, and retiring from Consolidated Freightways; being very skilled at his trade, he was recognized by CF for driving over two million accident free miles. He then fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning his own big rig and continued to travel with his wife and special canine companion “Freckles”. He also touched the lives of many children during his years of driving a school bus for the Seward Public Schools. He also enjoyed following Nebraska athletics, having coffee with his morning coffee group and teasing his grandchildren.
