OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS of Staplehurst May 25, 2021 The following is a condensed form of minutes. A complete copy is on file at the Village Hall. The Staplehurst Village Board held their monthly meeting at 7:00 P.M. at the Village Hall. Chairman Thompson called the meeting to order and announced the open meeting act and location in the village hall. Roll call was taken with members present: Thompson, Stava, Benedict, Blath, Alloway. The following actions were taken: Approved minutes of the April meeting. Approved claims. Approved Fire Department claims for the months of March, April and May. Representatives for the Women's Community Club were present and presented improvements needed for the community hall. They are working on grants for the improvements. LTD broadband internet service discussion was held and need a few more3 inquiries done before approving a tower on water tower. Our redeemer update on possible phase two of the gym to start next summer. The 3rd street project was discussed with ME Collins being here and digging a ditch to correct the drainage problem. Board is still not satisfied. Miller & Associates were present and held discussion on costs of new water tower and well. The following claims were approved: Greg Damman retainer 250.00; Council meetings 2470.00; Asphalt paving 11,000.00 street; US Postal 312.15 General; Waste Connections garbage 67.73; One Call Concept gen. 8.45; Seward County Independent proceedings 93.00; Midwest Lab sewer 125.84; Taylor Drain & Sewer SE. 525.00; Norris PPD electric 1564.71; NNTC gen 63.00; Constellation Energy gas 631.70; Black Hills Energy gas 235.56; Nebraska PHE Lab water 46.00; USA BlueBook sewer 99.01; Wayne Regnier gen. 105.84; EFTPS general 41184; Salaries 1226.73.
