OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS of Staplehurst January 26, 2021 The following is a condensed form of minutes. A complete copy is on file at the Village Hall. The Staplehurst Village Board held their monthly meeting at 7:00 P.M. at the village hall. Chairman Thompson called the meeting to order and announced the open meeting act and location in the village hall. Roll call was taken with members present: Thompson, Benedict, Blath, Alloway. The following actions were taken: Approved minutes of the December meeting. Approved claims. Approved claims of 7561.13 submitted for the fire department. Reported 24 total calls for the year. Discussion held on Village funding addition to exiting building. Find out from Attorney what the next steps would be as far as voting on funding from Village. Ordinance 21-01 and the waiver of the 3 readings (Issuance of Highway Allocation fund Pledge Bonds in the amount of 190,000.00 for the purpose of paying costs incurred with the construction of street improvements) was introduced and adopted. Moved and seconded change order in the amount of 14,596.00 for the 3rd street project. Moved and seconded pay contractor for the 3rd street project in the amount of 144,101.00. Moved and seconded to allow chairperson to sign forms for the 3rd street project. Moved and seconded to appoint Miller and Associates as Village Engineer. Moved and seconded to go to Executive Hearing for discussion on Village personnel. Our Redeemer was present to give update on school building process. The following claims were approved: Greg Damman 250.00; Reinmiller 6.08 Farmers Co-Op 120.24; Midwest Laboratories 134.41; Seward County Independent 15.95; Waste Connections 62.00; NNTC 59.95; John Deere Financial 6.99; Staplehurst Fire Department 819.00; JR's Bobcat Service 370.98; Staples 166.44; JEO 3384.50; Black Hills Energy 379.90; Nebraska PHE Lab 15.00; Department of Labor 9.86; Department of Revenue 4565.21; EFTPS 1082.08; Salaries 3568.40.
