NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HIGHWAY PROJECT INFORMATION NDOT PROJECT: STP-S80B(114) Bee Spur Bridge; C.N. 13201 The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is currently soliciting public input on the proposed bridge reconstruction along Nebraska Spur 80B (S80B) in Seward County. Identified as Bee Spur Bridge, the proposed project would reconstruct the bridge on S80B at approximately mile marker 1.00, or about 1.0 mile west of corporate limits of Bee. The purpose of this project is to preserve the S80B transportation assets, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public. The need for this proposed project is based on the current condition of the bridge. The proposed improvements for the Bee Spur Bridge project would consist of removing and reconstructing the bridge over Plum Creek (Structure Number SS80B00100). Additional work would include removing and reconstructing adjacent pavement, culvert construction, grading, and removal and replacement of guardrail. The proposed project would require the acquisition of additional property rights which could include new right-of-way (ROW), control of access (CA), permanent easements (PE), and/or temporary easements (TE). If your property is impacted by this project, you will be contacted by a representative once the design footprint has been established. Access to adjacent properties would be maintained during construction but may be limited at times due to phasing requirements. Construction for the proposed project could begin as early as spring 2025 and be completed in winter of 2025. The majority of the project would not be constructed under traffic; and a detour would be required for S80B due to bridge work. A detour would be provided utilizing Nebraska Highway 15 (N-15), Agnew Rd, and 252 Rd. The public is being encouraged to make suggestions or express concerns regarding the proposed project. Materials can be provided in alternative languages or formats. Comments will be collected through July 7th, 2023. Written comments or requests should be submitted to: Samantha Huebner, Public Involvement Coordinator, Nebraska Department of Transportation, P.O. Box 94759, Lincoln, NE 68509-4759; samantha.huebner@nebraska.gov; voice telephone (402) 479-4303, fax (402) 479-3989.
