MAY 17, 2022 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED JUNE 21, 2022 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on May 17, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. Present: Chairperson: John Culver Members: Misty Ahmic, Bob Vrbka, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Approved minutes of May 10, 2022. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Discussion was held on department budgets. Approved Zoning Fee Report for March 2022. Approved Clerk of the District Court and County Clerk Fee Reports for April 2022. C.J. Johnson of Region V Systems was present to give the annual report and request for funding for the next fiscal year. Opened bids for the courthouse HVAC System upgrade. Bids will be awarded next week. Approved Sheriff Fee and Mileage Reports for February 2022 and March 2022. Approved Jones Bank to withdraw pledged securities and pledge additional securities. Held Public Hearing and approved a Conditional Use Permit for a Temporary Asphalt Plant in J Precinct. Held Public Hearing for an application for a Re-Zone in I Precinct which was denied. Representatives of Staplehurst, Garland and Bee were in attendance to request County America Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Approved Memorandum of Understanding regarding a new CB Grant Tracking Database for the County Attorney’s Office. Approved Highway Supt. to go out for bids on two pickups and a sign truck. Discussions were held on flags and crosses at abandoned cemeteries and ARPA funds.
