Margaret Ann (Hoffman) Asberry was born Feb. 12, 1929, in Centreville, Illinois, to Glenn and Loretta (Vallowe) Hoffman and passed away May 30, 2021, in Seward, at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Margaret grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois, and attended school at St. Henry Catholic School. She was united in marriage to Louis Mifflin in 1946, and to this union, four children were born. Margaret was later divorced. She was a homemaker as well as a wonderful mother. Margaret worked at the Box Factory in St. Louis for several years. She later married Sylvan Asberry in 1962 in Rosemont, Illinois. The couple settled in Fairmont City, Illinois, then later moved to Seward in 1987 to be closer to family. Margaret was a member of Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church. She enjoyed shopping, decorating for every holiday, doing crossword puzzles and she loved receiving flowers. Margaret loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Loretta Hoffman; husband, Sylvan Asberry; son, Raymond Harr Mifflin; grandsons, Jon Mifflin and Jason Mifflin; brother, Richard Carl Hoffman; sister, Dorothy Pierce.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her sons and daughters-in-law, Stan and Mary Mifflin, Sun City West, Arizona, Louis and Cathy Mifflin, Maryville, Illinois, Bruce and Joyce Mifflin, Seward; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was June 4 with interment at the Seward Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church. Condolences may be left for the family at www.zabkafuneralhome.com.
