MARCH 23, 2021 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED APRIL 27, 2021 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on March 23, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: John Culver Members: Misty Ahmic, Bob Vrbka, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved the minutes of March 9, 2021. Hladky gave an update of her office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved the minutes of March 16, 2021. Officials gave reports of their offices. Commissioners gave an update of their activities. Discussion was held on LB310 regarding a change of inheritance tax. Approved 3 Surplus Property Disposal requests for the Road Dept. Terry Wicht, Highway Supt., was present to discuss an engineering study for signage at railroad crossings and was authorized to publish Notice for Public Hearing for an addition to the 1 & 6 Year Road Plan. Opened 4 bids for the mowing of abandoned cemeteries. Bid will be awarded at next week’s meeting. Eric Hofer, Building & Grounds Supt., provided color samples to the Commissioners for the painting of the courthouse dome and clocktower. The Commissioners will give a decision on the color at next week’s meeting. Approved purchase of tree for north side of courthouse.
