Linda Selma Ehlers, of Utica, was born Aug. 8, 1944, to Adolf and Selma (Fehlhafer) Obermier in York.
She attended Utica High School, graduating in 1962. On Nov. 24, 1963, Linda was united in marriage to Gary Ehlers at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica. Linda had a variety of jobs throughout her life including Kolterman Insurance, Houchen Bindery, Bronco Spur and M&G Leasing. In her free time, Linda enjoyed crocheting and crafting. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. Throughout her life, Linda was a member of Utica Jaycees, Flying U Saddle Club, Utica Fire Department Auxiliary, Nebraska Rural Letter Carrier Association Auxiliary, St. Paul Lutheran Church and St. Paul Ladies Aid. She also served as a former board member of the Utica Senior Center and volunteered for various other organizations. Linda passed away May 25, 2021, in Seward, at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 17 days.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Ehlers, Utica; children, Alan (Denise) Ehlers, Madison, Sharon (Kelly) Hartshorn, Utica; grandchildren, Jonathan (Krista) Ehlers, Barry Ehlers (fiancée, Cali), Eric Ehlers, Jordan Ehlers, Haley (Kyle) Koranda, Jesse Hartshorn, Hunter Hartshorn, Jayden Hartshorn; great-grandchildren, Lakely Ehlers, Carder Koranda; sister, Elaine (Ronald) Battreall; sister-in-law, Pam Fielder; nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Selma Obermier; brother and sister-in-law, LaVern and Nancy Obermier; nephew, Gregory Battreall; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Twila Ehlers; brother-in-law, Dennis Fielder.
A funeral service was May 29 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica with interment at the Utica Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ehlers family. Condolences may be left for the family at www.volzkefuneralhome.com.
