Leslie “Les” Theodore Luth 70, of Seward, was born April 3, 1952, in Seward, to Eugene and Wilma (Baack) Luth. He passed away Aug. 5, 2022.

He graduated from Centennial High School in 1970. Les and Danette Coufal were married Oct. 10, 1975, in Dwight. Les lived a life full of adventure and family. He was a passionate father to his five children, 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and countless foster children and foreign exchange students, including Michelly, Marisela, and Lalyz Ortiz from Mexico and Canada. He spent most of his career working for Tenneco automotive and driving a truck. He was an avid sports fan. He played softball and football and spent his life watching the Packers, Huskers and Seward Bluejay football teams. He played sports for Centennial, holding records for Centennial football and actively played in softball leagues as an adult. His favorite athletes were always his grandchildren, though, never missing a game or activity if he didn’t have to. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, bowling, watching marvel movies and spending time with his family.

With his wife, they enjoyed a life full of children, grandchildren, Petra, fishing, traveling and spending time making memories together with their family. His children and grandchildren will remember him as the man who they could always count on, who would never fail to have a joke or life advice in any situation and accepted everyone who came into his life with open arms and love. If you were going on a trip, he never failed to give you an entire road map fully knowing you weren’t going to remember but, he did it anyway.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Eugene Luth; nephew, Dylan Luth; along with his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Dolores Coufal. He is survived by his mother, Wilma (Baack) Luth of Seward; his wife, Danette (Coufal) Luth of Seward; his siblings, Pam (Dave) Fox of Bend, Oregon, Ronny (Mona) Luth of Beaver Crossing, and Danny Luth of David City; children, Kristy Svoboda of Lincoln, Melissa (Gregg) Wilson of Roca, Amber (Jason) Siebert of Henderson, Justin Luth of Lincoln, and Raven Luth of Lincoln; grandchildren, Devin Svoboda, Enrique Escamilla, Michael and Karli Wilson, Delaney, Cassidy and Kaden Siebert, Jylz, Justin II and Jada Luth, Dawson and Elijah, and Roslyn Chaon; one great-grandson, and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
