JUNE 7, 2022 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. The Board of Equalization will be meeting on June 21, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. to hold Protest Hearings. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED JULY 5, 2022 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on June 7, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: John Culver Members: Misty Ahmic, Bob Vrbka, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Jonathan Jank of the Seward County Chamber and Harrison Helmer of BRIDGES gave updates of their organizations. Officials gave reports of their offices. Approved minutes of May 31, 2022. Approved Seward County claims through May 27, 2022. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved liability insurance deductible to remain at $500. Approved May 2022 Fee Reports for Clerk of District Court and County Clerk. Approved Surplus Property Disposal Request for Assessor’s office. Opened and awarded bids for Road Dept. vehicles. Held Public Hearings for property rezones in I and P Precincts where members of the public spoke. Both requests were denied. Discussion was held on American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Approved request to use ARPA funds to purchase supplies for Detention Center. Approved wage increases for employees who will reach their 1-year anniversary in Fiscal Year 2022-2023. Approved temporary credit card limit increase for Attorney’s office. Sheriff Vance spoke about vehicle accidents his office has incurred.
