JUNE 4, 2024 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED JULY 2, 2024 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on June 4, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, John Culver, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Jacob Jennings of the Seward County Chamber gave an update of the organization. Officials gave reports of their offices. Approved minutes of May 28, 2024. Approved claims through May 24, 2024. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved utility permit in H Precinct and a utility easement in J Precinct. Approved Highway Supt. to go out for bids for rock and gravel. Approved Seward County Title VI Implementation Plan. Accepted resignation of Stephanie Luebbe as a member of the Planning Commission. Approved choice to stay with the current deductibles for liability and workers compensation insurance. Discussions were held on upkeep of abandoned cemeteries, painting the emergency stairs and power washing the exterior of the courthouse, county telephone expenses, Guidelines for Carbon Dioxide Pipeline Overlay District for Seward County, trainer rate for the Sheriff’s Office, policy and training software for HR, grants and interest in a grant writer for grant funds being sought by Seward County.
