JULY 23, 2024 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED AUGUST 13, 2024 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on July 23, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, John Culver Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved minutes of July 16, 2024. Hladky explained a valuation protest received after the deadline could not be considered. Approved Assessor to send out Change of Value notices. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved consent agenda consisting of the minutes of July 16, 2024, Sheriff Fee & Mileage Reports for May 2024, and Collected and Uncollected Distress Warrants Report. Schweitzer gave an update of her office. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved job description for an unpaid intern in HR Dept. Approved agreement with Motorola for E911 Dept. Approved Seward County ADA Policy and Assurances. Approved Amendment #8 to the Detention Center Food Service Contract. Budget meetings were held for the Extension Office, Building & Grounds, Aging Services, Veteran Services, Public Transit, Road Dept, Weed Dept, County Clerk and other misc. budgets. Discussions were held on a job description for the Detention Center, maintenance of a railing at the Justice Center, and grants being sought by Seward County.
