No, it’s Seward’s new south water tower. Crews are building the 500,000-gallon tank of the tower from sheets of steel on the ground. Once complete, the tank will be hoisted into place at the corner of Jackson Avenue and Eighth Street, next to the existing tower which will eventually be torn down. Maguire Iron Inc. of South Dakota is building the larger tower to accommodate the city’s growth. Construction is expected to take about a year.
