Seward took eight wrestlers to the Central Conference tournament Jan. 30 at Adams Central and brought home six medals.

Sophomore Nolan Hill was the team’s lone champion, topping the 170-pound bracket with two wins.

“He really wrestled well,” Coach Bob Core said. “He beat the No. 7 wrestler in Class B in the final pretty handily.”

Hill defeated Sam Holt of Holdrege 14-5 in the championship match.

He was also 2-0 in Seward’s double dual Jan. 28, defeating Gavin Soden of Raymond Central and receiving a forfeit against Boys Town.

Cash Duncan earned second at conference at 113 pounds. He was 3-1 with three pins and lost the final 10-9. The junior was also 2-0 in the duals with a pin and a forfeit.

Boone Duncan earned third at 145 pounds, going 4-1 with three pins.

Breckin Schoepf and Conner Rosendale earned fifth places, and Treyton Hobson was sixth.

Seward will wrestle in subdistricts at York Saturday, Feb. 6.
