Deputies with the Seward County Sheriff’s Office arrested one male and located nine handguns and suspected drug currency in a traffic stop between Goehner and Seward on I-80 Aug. 25.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., a Seward County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima after observing a vehicle and traffic violation near mile marker
375 in the westbound lanes. During the traffic stop, the deputy became increasingly suspicious that the driver and
sole occupant, Demitris M. Bow, 31, of Oakley, California, was involved in criminal activity.

The deputy deployed his K9, which alerted to
the odor of a controlled substance coming from inside the vehicle.

A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle revealed nine handguns and several magazines. Two of the handguns have been confirmed stolen. The search also revealed $19,660 in what is believed to be drug proceeds.

Bow was arrested for possession of a firearm by a
prohibited person, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of U.S. drug currency. He was lodged in the Seward County Detention Center.
