The Seward County girls’ wrestling team brought home the runner-up plaque from the Fillmore Central Invitational Dec. 30 and had four wrestlers earn individual silver medals.
Lauren Frihauf (105), Ava Rediger (125), Mckenna Kisela (135) and Amy Sistek (235) finished second at their weight classes.
“We are making progress,” Coach Andy Sistek said. “We got second as a team – that was exciting.”
Seward finished behind Adams Central in the team race.
“Overall we did really good,” Coach Sistek said. “There are some matches we wish we could have had back, but they are fewer and farther between.”
The team will compete at High Plains Thursday, Jan. 5, and at Malcolm Saturday, Jan. 7. Matches Saturday start at 9 a.m.
