Franklin Leon Reynolds was born Nov. 8, 1944, in Seward, the son of Leland George and Martha Marie (Yank) Reynolds. Frank passed away Jan. 17, 2021, also in Seward, at the age of 76 years, 2 months, 9 days.

Frank was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. He attended St. John Lutheran School and was a 1963 graduate of Seward High School. Frank began his career with the City of Seward as a sexton/caretaker for the cemeteries. He retired in 2010 after 47 years of service to the city. Frank was not only a keeper of the grounds, he was also a guardian of the history of those buried within the cemeteries and was devoted to maintaining the grounds in a caring, respectable manner.

Frank was united in marriage to Lois LaVonne Fuglemsmo on June 8, 1979, in South Dakota. Frank welcomed Lois’s family as his own.

In earlier years, Frank enjoyed flying, deer hunting and he loved the outdoors. Frank and Lois enjoyed spending time fishing at their cabin near Blue River Lodge in Crete. Frank also enjoyed trips to Laughlin, Nevada, to the casinos. Frank will be remembered for his delicious salt water taffy made from his Grandma Reynolds' recipe.

Frank was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Martha Reynolds; his wife, Lois, in 2002; brother, David Reynolds; sister, Sharon Jackson; and sister-in-law, Clara Reynolds.

Frank is survived by his sister and brothers-in-law, Alice and Stuart Edwards, Cheyenne,Woming; Thomas Jackson, Thorsey, Alabama; brother and sister-in-law, William Reynolds, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Bonnie Hilt, Burlington, Colorado; stepchildren, Erika and Jerry Murphy, Lincoln, Steve Fuglemsmo and girlfriend Yvonne McAlister, LaVista, Joni Bloebaum, Lincoln and Jeff and Liz Fuglemsmo, Bella Vista, Arkansas; many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, step great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A funeral service was Jan. 22 at St. John Lutheran Church with interment in the Seward Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.zabkafuneralhome.com.
