Four Corners offers new vaccine schedule

Four Corners Health Department has a new COVID Vaccine Clinic schedule, beginning the week of Nov. 1. Vaccine clinics will be every week on Tuesday and Friday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Four Corners Office (2101 N. Lincoln Avenue) in York.

All three vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson) will be offered at each clinic. There is no charge for the vaccine.

To make it easier to schedule a vaccine in Nov., Four Corners will be offering some extended clinic hours and special vaccine clinic times:

Friday, Nov. 5, from noon to 7 p.m. (Four Corners Office in York)

Saturday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (Four Corners Office in York)

Saturday, Nov. 13, from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. (Concordia’s Walz Fieldhouse in Seward).

Those wanting to receive a vaccine are asked to schedule one through the Four Corners website. Walk-ins are also welcome, but please register to guarantee that a vaccine will be available and convenient for you. If you have any trouble registering online, you can also call the Four Corners Office at (402) 362-2621 to schedule a time. Who should get the vaccine?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests that everyone 12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Weekly COVID update

As of Oct. 27, the total cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the Four Corners District is 6,849. There were 173 new cases in the previous 14 days, with 94 of those cases recorded in the past seven days. The 7-day case rate per 100,000 population is 211, which is rated as “HIGH.”

There have been two more deaths locally, determined to be related to COVID-19: A man in his 50’s and a man in his 60’s.

These deaths occurred in the last half of September/first half of October timeframe.
