Elizabeth “Betty” Joyce Wotring, 80, of Dwight, passed away March 3, 2021, at David’s Place Nursing Home in David City. She was born Nov. 11, 1940, in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, to John and Helen (Marsh) Norman. She married Ronald Marvin Wotring on June 19, 1982, in El Cajon, California. He survives. 

Also surviving are seven children, Teresa (Michael) Beatty of Beaver Crossing, Robert (Kelli) Payne of St. Mary, Georgia, Frederick (Mi Suk) Payne of Bellevue, Larry (Lois) Payne of Seward, Ronald Wotring Jr. of La Mesa, California, Teresa (Rick) Elliot, of Santee, California, Annie (Ray) Axtt of Salt Lake City, Utah; five siblings, Fred (Suzy) Norman, Kevin (Marg) Norman, Patricia Casey, Patrick (Janet) Norman, Bernard (Judy) Norman, all of St. Johns, Newfoundland; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tina Payne; two brothers, Joseph and Gerard Norman, two sisters, Mary McGuire and Rose Stroud; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Payne.

Betty was a lifelong member of non-denominational churches and daily, completed her Bible studies.  She was an avid doll collector and had a large collection of holiday decorations.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to aarp.org/dementia. Condolences may be left for the family at www.martinhollisfh.com.
