Dolores (Vampola) Foster was born March 27, 1933, on a farm near Seward to Joseph and Anna (Vodicka) Vampola and passed away May 1, 2021, in Sun City West, Arizona, at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 4 days.

Dolores was raised in Bee, where she attended grade school and graduated from Dwight Assumption High School with the Class of 1950. She worked at the family general store in Bee for several years, then at the National Board of Commerce in Lincoln. On May 26, 1962, she married Air Force Lt. Royal E. Foster Jr. and to this union, was born a son, Royal III. They lived in several states and the Philippines, traveling throughout the Far East. After Royal’s retirement, they moved to Lincoln and then to Sun City West, Arizona.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna Vampola; husband, Royal Foster Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Ray Policky; brother, Larry Vampola; brother and sister-in-law, Ernie and Beverly Vampola; brother-in-law, James Madsen.

Dolores is survived by her son, Royal Foster III; daughter-in-law, Susan Foster; granddaughters, Michelle and Veronica who recently wed Jeremy Naeve, all of Colorado; sister, Evelyn Madsen of Arizona, and six nieces, one nephew and their families.

A memorial service is Saturday, June 12, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Bee with a graveside service and inurnment at the church cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.zabkafuneralhome.com.
